Trainers have completely taken over the fashion scene.
They're bang on trend this season (team your Nikes with a camel trench, polka dot tee and punchy pink lipstick) and they were the hottest thing on the Spring/Summer 2015 catwalks.
At Burberry they were multicoloured and teamed with monogrammed handbags, Temperley London debuted lace-up hand painted styles and Rita Ora has just launched a new line for adidas Originals. The blue suede and pony-hair leather ones in the gallery below? LOVE.
Fashion kicks are your new wardrobe staple and they're brilliant for three big reasons (there's actually hundreds, but here's the gist):
1. They go with everything.
My mum would beg to differ, but they do. Midi skirts (go A-line or pencil), leather joggers, faux faux outerwear, jumpsuits, jeans, dresses...
2. Comfort.
Right style x right size = so damn comfy.
3. COOLNESS.
All your go-to trainer brands (Nike, adidas Originals, Puma, Converse, New Balance, Vans, Giuseppe Zanotti...) have endless new standout styles with crazy colourways, multi-texture detailing, quirky soles and cool fastenings.
These days trainers have a unisex appeal, there's no his or hers and no definitive time or place to wear them. I'd just steer clear of doing them with showy socks - flaunt your ankles at every opportunity.
We're wearing lighter-than-air running shoes with our work wardrobe, and that's the beauty of this trend - your look can be casual and sharp at the same time.
Trainers officially have fashion license as do these Instagram accounts all about the awesome sneakers: King Of Trainers, Sneaker News, SoleFlick and Sneaker Politics.
Take a flick through this edit of our top 50 pairs and yes, you're going to need at least 10 of them...
