'Strictly Come Dancing' Says Goodbye To Gregg Wallace, Who Exits Dance Floor With Aliona Vilani

Strictly Says Goodbye To First Of This Year's Contestants

Gregg Wallace has become the first of this year's 'Strictly Come Dancing' contestants to be turfed off the dance floor.

He and his partner Aliona lost in the dance-off to 'Mrs Brown's Boys' star Jennifer Gibney and her partner Tristan MacManus.

In their battle to avoid elimination, Jennifer and Tristan did their Waltz to 'Natural Woman' by Aretha Franklin and Gregg and Aliona performed their Charleston to ‘Hey Good Looking’ by Ray Charles.

It was goodbye to Gregg Wallace and his partner Aliona, this year's first contestants to be eliminated

After both couples had danced a second time the judges delivered their verdicts which were unanimous in their choice to save Jennifer, with Bruno summing it up, saying, “I have to go with the most accomplished couple this evening and that is Jennifer and Tristan.”

Reflecting back on the results of tonight’s show, Gregg said, “I have to say it is the most terrifying thing I have ever, ever done. What I really liked most of all was practice, coming in here [the studio] really scared me. If I come back again, can you just watch me while I practice?!"

To his professional partner, Aliona, he said, “Thank you so much for your patience – you are a saint!”
