There is a Lunar eclipse taking place on 8 October 2014. It is exciting.

It seems like every time there is a Lunar eclipse (this is the third since 2011) this picture goes around. But it's not real, as pointed out on Twitter by PicPedant and others.
And to be pedantic, it's not even a picture of a Lunar eclipse, but of a solar eclipse.
Anyway it's an illustration taken from DeviantArt (original here).
And for that matter, this isn't real either.
