We can't be certain when this video was filmed (the YouTube description says 1953, but it appears to feature Italian Prime Minister Giovanni Leone, who held the post from 1971-1978).
But regardless of when it took place, this display by police motorcyclists in Rome is really quite spectacular, even by modern- day (by which we mean 'OK Go') standards.
Presumably this was a good day to be committing crime on the streets of the Italian capital...
