Man In 'Snake-Proof' Suit To Be Swallowed Live By An Anaconda On The Discovery Channel

This Man Wants You To Watch Him Being Swallowed Alive By An Anaconda On TV

If you thought you’d seen it all – then you’re wrong.

The Discovery Channel has announced an upcoming episode in which a naturalist and filmmaker will don a “snake-proof” suit and allow himself to be swallowed by an anaconda.

Yup, you heard.

Paul Rosolie will slide into a custom-built suit and presumably lie in an enticing manner on a dinner plate in front of a hungry ananconda.

A teaser – featuring Rosolie in a futuristic-looking space suit - seems to infer the stunt has already been filmed, though the outcome (for the snake at least) is unknown.

Little else is known about the stunt – but it’s undoubtedly a risky experiment and some people are already expressing concerns about the welfare of the snake.

Rosolie has replied to criticisms by tweeting: “If u know me – I would never hurt a living thing. But you’ll have to watch #EatenAlive to see how it goes down!”

It is not known what kind of anaconda Rosalie is intending to climb into or where, but according to National Geographic the South American green anaconda is the largest snake in the world.

It can grow up to 30ft in length, lives up to ten years and weigh more than 550 pounds.

The South American green anaconda can grow up to 30ft in length and kills by squeezing its prey until the animal asphyxiates

The channel adds: “They reach their monumental size on a diet of wild pigs, deer, birds, turtles, capybara, caimans, and even jaguars.

"Anacondas are nonvenomous constrictors, coiling their muscular bodies around captured prey and squeezing until the animal asphyxiates. Jaws attached by stretchy ligaments allow them to swallow their prey whole, no matter the size, and they can go weeks or months without food after a big meal.”

Eaten Alive will premier on the Discovery Channel on 7 December.
