Eminem has suggested he would punch Lana Del Rey in the face in a shocking new rap.

The rapper posted a new song, ‘Shady Cxvpher’, online this week, which features violent lyrics about the ‘Summertime Sadness’ singer, as well as a homophobic slur and references to American footballer Ray Rice’s recent attack on his fiancée in a lift.

During his verse on the track, he raps: “But I may fight for gay rights, especially if the dyke is more of a knockout than Janay Rice...
“Play nice? Bitch I'll punch Lana Del Rey right in the face twice, like Ray Rice in broad daylight in the plain sight of the elevator surveillance.”

Ray Rice was suspended from the NFL earlier this year, after CCTV footage surfaced online, showing him knocking his ex-fiancée, Janay Rice, unconscious.
This isn’t the first time Eminem has come under fire for the violent and misogynistic content of his music, with a number of his tracks containing barbed attacks on both his mother and ex-wife, among other targets.
In one of his most infamous tracks, ‘97 Bonnie and Clyde’, he graphically describes a fictional scenario where he has slit his ex-wife’s throat and put her in the trunk of his car.
He’s also been accused of being homophobic, with a number of his songs containing slurs directed towards gay people, more recently on his Nicki Minaj collaboration ‘Roman’s Revenge’, which contains the line: “All you little f****ts can suck it, no homo.”
Nicki later admitted in an interview with American gay magazine Out, that she didn’t feel wholly comfortable with the inclusion of the homophobic slur on the song, admitting: “If I'm being honest, I didn't like [him using it].”
‘Shady Cxvpher’ was put online to promote his record label’s upcoming greatest hits collection, ‘Shady XV’, which will feature tracks by 50 Cent and Skylar Grey, among others.
