Watch This Cambridge Student's Entry For Miss World

The incumbent Miss England, student Carina Tyrrell, has just launched her bid to win the 2014 Miss World contest.

In the video, the Cambridge University medic talks us through her credentials and outlines her ambition to "make a difference".

"Cambridge is my home town, and it's beauty never ceases to amaze me," says Carina.

"I want to make the most out of life, and have enjoyed looking after children at camps and creches, being a ski instructor for children, and waterskiing."

She adds: "Since age five, I have been deeply moved by the human suffering experienced by those less fortunate. My desire to become a doctor grew stronger, as I was exposed to the reality of healthcare provision in the world."

The competition will start on November 20 in London and last three weeks.
