Helena Bonham Carter is known for taking, shall we say, risks on the red carpet, and when she stepped out Wednesday night for Save the Children's Secret Winter Gala at London's Guildhall, she wore an accessory only she could - just about - get away with.
Wearing one of her signature all-black looks, Helena - who plays the Fairy Godmother in the soon-to-be released live-action Cinderella movie (check out the trailer below), wore a black sheer ruffled mesh dress with corset top, which she accessorized with a dramatic fascinator, red sparkly heels and a cat's tail.
A furry, black cat's tail. Dubious, but Helena can do no wrong, can she?
In her defense, the event was fairytale-inspired so other guests also went a little daring with their fashion choices.
The lineup of attendees included models Poppy Delevingne (stunning in a plunge-neck satin dress with jewelled trim), Erin O'Connor (who paid tribute to Little Red Riding Hood in a floral red dress and cape) and Karen Elson, as well as actors Dominic West and Sam Neill and Samantha Cameron, who kept it chic and simple in a cream brocade dress.
