Violence, burning and destruction have erupted in Ferguson, Missouri after it was announced that white policeman Darren Wilson will not face prosecution for shooting unarmed black teenager Michael Brown.
Among the carnage and shocking images, it's easy to forget that many people are following the pleas of President Obama, and Brown's family, and protesting peacefully.
These striking images of words on placards and walls tell the story a community with a message. This is a movement that is - rightly or wrongly - angry, afraid and frustrated by what it sees as a crisis of racial injustice blighting the US police system.
