‘Coronation Street’ bosses aren’t too happy following the National Television Award shortlist announcement, according to reports.
The Tina McIntyre murder storyline hasn't led to any nominations
The shortlist was decided following fans’ votes, which will also decide the winners, though bosses are still reportedly rather annoyed.
“Last year, we had three out of four nominations for Serial Performance — which Julie Hesmondhalgh won — and one for Newcomer.
“So to not feature at all in those categories is a real blow to the team.”
“So now the bosses are just hoping this month’s bus crash turns things around. If it doesn’t, they could be in trouble.”
The ‘Corrie’ bus crash will see a number of the show’s best-loved character’s lives left hanging in the balance, including Steve McDonald and Sean Tully.
‘Hollyoaks’ has also scored two other nods, in the Best Newcomer and Best Serial Performance categories, as has ‘Emmerdale’.
Elsewhere on the list, ‘Sherlock’, ‘Cilla’ and ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ are also up for awards.
