Meth-Smuggling Drone Crashes In Supermarket Car Park

Meth Drone Crashes In Car Park

A drone that was carrying methamphetamine has been discovered in a small supermarket car park in Tijuana, Mexico. The police were called to the drone crash site after it was found by a member of public.

The drone in question was a DJI Spreading Wings S900 which can carry heavy loads for up to 18 minutes.

Pictures of the crashed drone have been uploaded to Facebook by the Mexican authorities following a spate of incidents in which drones have been used as drug transports.

With their small size, fast pace and relatively simple operation, drug cartels in Mexico are using the UAVs to distribute their drugs across neighbourhoods.

In this case however, Mashable reports that the weight was apparently too much for the drone, which then inevitably led to it crashing to the ground.
