Taylor Swift To Headline BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend 2015 In Norwich

Taylor Confirms Second UK Festival Appearance

Taylor Swift is the first act to be confirmed for the 2015 BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend, which will take place in Norwich this May.

The annual event is staged in a different location each year, and it will be the ‘Shake It Off’ creator’s first ever UK festival appearance.

Taylor has shared her excitement ahead of the show, stating: "Everyone talks about the festivals in England being the best ones you can go to. I feel like I've been missing out - I'm really excited.

"[The crowds] are rowdy, insane, in the best way - there seems to be a lot of jumping, which I love."

One person who might be a little surprised by the booking is Ed Sheeran, who recently stated that his pal Taylor doesn’t like the idea of performing at festivals.

In June, her ‘1989’ world tour will include a stop off at the British Summer Time Festival in London’s Hyde Park.

The 2015 Big Weekend is scheduled to take place at Norwich’s Earlham Park on the 23 and 24 May.

All tickets for the event are free, and the majority go to local residents. Last year’s Big Weekend, held in Glasgow, was a star-studded affair, and acts performing included Coldplay, Katy Perry and One Direction.
