Apparently This Dress Was 'Too Inappropriate' For A High School Prom

According to a group of school officials in the US, this dress was "too inappropriate" for the high school prom, because it showed too much shoulder, and so they made the owner cover up with a jacket all night.

Goodness, is that a flash of ankle we see too? How very dare she.

Gabi Finalyson, a 15-year-old from Utah, bought the dress in Paris, believing it fitted the school's archaic requirements:

"Formals, backless dresses and/or tops may not extend beyond the bottom of the shoulder blades. Girls’ dresses and tops must have a 2″ minimum strap on each shoulder. Shawls, boleros and other shrugs are acceptable if worn over the dress at all times. Cleavage covered."

"Somehow my shoulders are sexualized," Finlayson told local news channel KUTV. "Like it’s my responsibility to make sure the boys’ thoughts are not unclean."

As a result, the teen was forced to wear her winter coat for the evening.

"Maybe instead of teaching girls they should cover themselves up, we should be teaching boys that we’re not just sex objects that you can look at and derive pleasure," she added.

The school says all students were told about the dress code and were asked to cover up in a "very careful and sensitive way".
