Raspberry Pi 2: Price, Release Date And Windows 10

Why Do People Care About The Raspberry Pi 2?

If you’re in the market for a new computer, you might not have to spend hundreds of pounds for an upgrade.

In fact you might need to spend just £25.

The second generation of the Raspberry Pi mini-computer is on sale now - and it’s six times more powerful than the previous version, runs Windows and might just be usable as an every day machine.

The machine retains the same card-sized design as the original British-designed hobby computer. But it adds a bunch of new features that make it far more capable.

It has:

  • A 900MHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 CPU (~6x performance)
  • 1GB LPDDR2 SDRAM (2x memory)
  • Complete compatibility with Raspberry Pi 1

The Raspberry Pi Foundation also announced the new model will come with a free version of Windows 10 - though exactly what version of the software is yet to be unveiled.

The original Raspberry Pi has been used for everything from making satellites to retro games consoles. We can’t wait to see what amazing things are invented using the new model.
