A Third Of Employers Can Spot A Generic CV - And Other Careers Advice You Need To Know

More than three quarters of graduates are unhappy with the careers advice they have been given at university, with a mere 8% saying they felt confident writing a CV, researched has revealed.

A further 87% said they felt the advice they received didn't prepare them for working life, while just 12% were given the opportunity to have a one-on-one session with a careers advisor whilst studying, according to the CV Centre.

The study also spoke to 1,000 decision makers in business, who identified mistakes within CVs (41%), irrelevant degrees (24%) and untailored cover letters (30%) are regular occurrences seen in graduate applications.
