'Coronation Street' Spoiler: Michelle Connor Proposes To Steve McDonald In The Rovers Return... But Will He Say Yes? (PICS)

Things are about to make a drastic turn-around for Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) in 'Coronation Street', when his girlfriend Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh) pops the question!

During Sean Tully's (Antony Cotton) "butlers' auction", Steve is led behind the bar, to discover that his on-off girlfriend has decorated the back room with romantic candles - and as he heads back into the bar he's stunned when she gets down and one knee and asks him to marry her in front of all their punters.

It's been a difficult few months for Steve and Michelle, after the Streetcars owner has only just begun to come out of a dark depression that has been plaguing him for months, with their relationship having suffered as a consequence.

The only mystery now is… what will Steve's answer be?

Simon Gregson has also reportedly had a difficult time of it behind the scenes lately, after it was reported he was signed off work for a full week with a chest infection that had affected several members of the cast and crew, throwing filming schedules "into chaos".

Michelle's proposal echoes a similar scene which aired during the week of live episodes to celebrate the 30th anniversary of 'EastEnders' last month, when Kellie Bright's character Linda popped the question to Mick, played by Danny Dyer.

Find out how Steve reacts to Michelle's proposal when the scenes air during 'Coronation Street' on 29 March, at 7.30pm on ITV.
