Ukip are well known for not being the biggest fans of immigrants and the EU and it appears they don't care much for the entire planet we live on either.
Saturday evening saw 'Earth Hour' marked around the world as famous landmarks voluntarily plunged themselves into darkness to highlight the threat from climate change.
While most of the world was united in making the bold statement, Ukip MEP Roger Helmer urged his followers to rally against it.
Strike a blow against Climate Hysteria. Turn all your lights on for "Earth Hour".— Roger Helmer (@RogerHelmerMEP) March 28, 2015
The far from successful boycott led to Helmer being widely mocked for his remark.
“@RogerHelmerMEP: Strike a blow against Climate Hysteria. Turn all your lights on for "Earth Hour".” >< MAD AS A BOX OF FROGS !— Paddy Briggs (@PaddyBriggs) March 28, 2015

It's not the first time in recent days Helmer has made a climate-related gaffe. This was his spectacular insight into the solar eclipse...

Ukip politicians have regularly graced the pages of this website for their unorthodox views on freak weather events.
Last year, Ukip councillor David Silvester, who resigned from the Conservative Party over David Cameron’s same-sex marriage policy, said gay marriage is to blame for Britain's flooding in a letter to The Henley Standard.
He wrote: "Since the passage of the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act, the nation has been beset by serious storms and floods." He was later suspended from the party.
Ukip policy on climate change insists' it's "still up for debate".
- UKIP will abolish the Department of Energy and Climate Change and scrap green subsidies.
- UKIP will repeal the Climate Change Act 2008 which costs the economy £18bn a year.
