James McAvoy raised eyebrows at Sunday night’s Empire Awards, when he thanked Jennifer Lawrence’s naked body during his acceptance speech.

The Scottish actor was there to accept the award for Best Sci-Fi Movie for ‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past’, in which he played Professor X.
Giving a speech on behalf of the rest of the cast, he couldn’t resist making a joke about his co-star - who plays Mystique - and the her barely-there costume she sports in the film.

He joked to the crowd: “I'd like to thank Jennifer Lawrence's wonderful blue hue and naked body for ensuring I didn't even feature in that clip.
“If we weren't fans of ‘X-Men’ when we started, we are now, and I just hope that when we do Apocalypse this summer, we do the fans as proud as we did this time. Thank you Empire! We do hugely appreciate it.”

Jennifer recently reported that she would be leaving the film series soon, telling MTV News that her upcoming appearance in ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ would be her “last one”.
She isn’t the only one thought to be bowing out of ‘X-Men’ though, with Hugh Jackman strongly hinting his time with the franchise might soon be coming to an end.
Last week, he shared an image on Instagram of his character Wolverine’s trademark claws, adding the caption: “WOLVERINE… ONE LAST TIME.”
