Stevie McCrorie might still be celebrating his big win on ‘The Voice’ this weekend, but we’re guessing producers will be less excited to learn that this year’s final brought in a record low number of viewers.

Just over six million viewers tuned in to BBC One on Saturday to watch as Stevie was crowned champion of ‘The Voice’, accounting for 31.6% of what people were watching, but that makes this year’s final the least-viewed episode in this year’s series.
By comparison, 6.6 million people watched last year’s live final, compared to this year’s 6.31 million.

It wasn’t all bad news for ‘The Voice’, though, after Stevie’s debut single shot to the top of the iTunes chart when it was released on Saturday night, following his victory.
Stevie - who was mentored by Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson - has become the first ever winner of ‘The Voice UK’ to have a single ready for release upon his win, in the style of ‘The X Factor’, whose winners immediately release a single after being crowned.
His debut release is a cover of ‘Lost Stars’, first recorded by Adam Levine, a coach on the American version of ‘The Voice’.
Prior to this year’s final, Ricky insisted that he thought this would be the year that ‘The Voice’ produces a winner with commercial success.
In an apparent dig at ‘The X Factor’, he said: “It will happen, it just might not be that wham bam Christmas number one thank you disappear in six months vibe.”
