According to The Sun, the former child star was granted a divorce from Paul Grunert earlier this week, citing “unreasonable behaviour” on his part as the reason for their split.

The news comes shortly after the announcement that Bonnie will soon be making her debut on ‘EastEnders’, where she’ll be playing Carmel Kazemi, described as a “throughly modern Essex divorcée”, and the mum of current Albert Square resident Kush Kazemi.

“Her role in ‘EastEnders’ has now turned out a bit like life imitating art.”

“She split from her husband quite some time ago and it is very amicable and they remain good friends. Bonnie has not discussed the split publicly as she wants to talk about ‘EastEnders’ now and not her personal life. The priority for her and Paul is their daughter.”

The Sun have claimed that Bonnie and Paul’s divorce will be finalised when it is “rubber-stamped” next month.

The couple tied the knot in a “secret” Mauritius wedding in 1995, after meeting while they were both starring in a musical together.
