David Beckham is planning to mark his 40th birthday today in style, and he's already set a blistering pace - saying hello to his fans on his new Instagram account, and flying with wife Victoria to Marrakech, where he will party in style this evening, alongside his celebrity pals.

David launched his Instagram account this morning, with an intimate pic. And Victoria shared a picture of the pair of them standing alongside the private jet that carried them long-haul to Marrakech - both of them using the hashtag #DB40. They couldn't have been more coordinated if it was a commercial venture, not just a birthday.

Their family and friends have been flying into Marrakech, with the guest list expected to include Gordon Ramsay and wife Tana, A-lister Tom Cruise, David's longtime pal Dave Gardner and partner Liv Tyler, chatshow host James Corden and co.
The venue tipped for the big occasion is the Amenjena resort outside the Moroccan city, where guests can hire private luxury pavilions, play golf on the private course and be treated at a luxury spa. It's also where Victoria and David previously renewed their wedding vows.
