Kim Kardashian’s ‘Selfish’ book signing didn’t go quite as smoothly as planned on Wednesday when the event was interrupted by a group of animal rights activists.

Kim was at the Barnes & Noble store in New York to sign copies of the literary masterpiece, which features page after page after page of selfies of the star.

‘War and Peace’ it ain’t.

Uh-oh

However, dotted among the thousands of fans who had queued (some all night) to have their three seconds of 1-on-1 time with the reality star were a small group of animal rights activists.

And no, they didn’t want a signed copy of the book, thanks.

Cue Kim greeting the ‘fans’ with her stock fixed smile only to be called ‘the most disgusting human being on the planet’ for her support of the fur industry.

Another asked her to sign the book to ‘all the animals that have been killed for you to wear a fur coat’.

Kim’s response, as you can see in the amazing footage below, was to just keep smiling!

It’s still unclear which organisation, if any, was behind the protest, but it’s not the first time the 34-year-old has been targeted.

In 2012, Kim was flour-bombed by PETA at the launch of her True Reflection perfume in West Hollywood.

The incident led to Kim's sister Khloé disassociating herself from the animal rights organisation.

“I will no longer support PETA. Bullying and harassment is NEVER a solution, and I won't be a part of any organization that thinks otherwise,” she wrote on her website.
