It's difficult to know what to say to a loved-one when you hear that they've been diagnosed with terminal cancer.
But in the above video, Holley Kitchen perfectly demonstrates what not to say.
The mother-of-two was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer when she was 39 years old. After a year of treatment, she thought she'd beaten the disease.
But then she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer.
Metastatic cancer is cancer that has spread from the place where it first started to another place in the body. In Kitchen's case, the cancer has spread to her spine and bones.
There is no cure for metastatic cancer and Kitchen was given 26 months to live when she was re-diagnosed.
"My treatment will never end until my journey on earth is over," she says in the video above.
Understandably, friends and family have found it difficult to find the right words when talking about Kitchen's diagnosis, so she's created some handy placards to demonstrate what not to say to someone with terminal cancer:
Kitchen ends the video by saying: "My mission is not to shame anyone, just to educate everyone. Because before I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer, I didn't know any of this.
"Empower yourself and others, please share this video so people can learn."
