This Private Jet Company Is Uber For The Ultra-Rich

Uber For Rich People Is Basically First Class On Steroids

U.S. aviation company Rise are a 'Uber-style private-flight sharing company' offering people the chance to order jets instead of taxis.

Most of us have grown accustomed to working our way through Uber's check boxes in the wee small hours of the morning. After losing all track of time and public transport is at its worst, it offers a means of getting home without causing further damage to our bank balance.

However, for some, aka the super rich, the humble car journey back to their overseas abode might prove to be more hassle than it's worth.

Launching in Europe in 2016, Rise claim users can "book flights in seconds" using an app which they can subscribe to for a measly £1,500.

The company will use third party flight operators and currently use Beechcraft King Air 350, which beats any luxury car Uber sends your way.

Aside from the membership costs, would be jet-setters would also need to plane share as the flight plans are determined by demand from members.

Europe's version of the app will start with London-Dublin routes and then expand to Paris, Brussels, Edinburgh and Geneva.

Rise claim the idea has received a positive reception from the U.S., where it has already launched.

CEO and founder, Nick Kennedy told HuffPost UK: “We saw an opportunity to make travel better for time-starved entrepreneurs and executives –and we recognised there was a lot of untapped potential in the business travel market.

"Demand so far has been phenomenal – so much so that we were the first ever US aviation company to launch in profit. In the US we’ve had to put new membership on hold so we can keep up with the level of demand.”

The company's appeal, if it does take off in Europe, is that it is essentially making business class travel highly personalised while reportedly saving members around three hours per trip.
