#PoweredByPride Donates £1 To LGBTQ Charities For Every Selfie Taken With London Art Installation

People Are Posting Incredible Selfies With This Street Art To Raise Money For LGBTQ Charities

At last -- a social media campaign for the greater good! Fitness brand Equinox have teamed up with artist, David Flores, to create amazing interactive works of art to celebrate Pride Week.

Laverne Cox and Russell Brand are among the celebrities who have drummed up support for the campaign, which promises to donate £1 to LGBTQ charities for every selfie posted online with the hashtag.

Flores has taken to the streets of London, San Francisco and New York to create murals celebrating all that's good in the LGBTQ community.

The LA-based artist said: “Art is most powerful when delivering a social message. I am a big supporter of self-expression and the LGBTQA community. Everyone deserves to be proud of who they are.”

The proceeds from the London installation will go to The Pilion Trust, an organisation that offers the LGBTQ community stability, friendship and a safe place for those who are struggling to understand their sexual and gender identities.

CEO of The Pilion Trust, Savvas Panas said: "The #PoweredByPride activation is so important because it recognises the need to help brighten the future of those individuals who are at risk, both emotionally and physically."

Take a selfie with #PoweredByPride at Berwick Street, London, between 17 June and 13 July.
