BBC Publishes Full List Of 'Right To Be Forgotten Articles'

Here's EVERY BBC Article That Google Is Hiding From You

The BBC has published a full list of articles that don't appear in Google's search results following the European Justice's 'right to be forgotten' ruling last year.

What it essentially means is that these list of stories, which date back to July 2014, will not appear in Google's results when 'certain queries' on specific individuals are searched.

Google told the BBC: 'The BBC articles below are only delisted from results for queries on certain names. They are not removed from the Google index entirely.'

While the stories will still appear on BBC Online's archive, the links will be harder to find as a result of being delisted.

Writing on the BBC's blog, managing editor Neil McIntosh stated:

"Each month, we'll republish this list with new removals added at the top.

"We are doing this primarily as a contribution to public policy. We think it is important that those with an interest in the “right to be forgotten” can ascertain which articles have been affected by the ruling.

"We hope it will contribute to the debate about this issue.

"We also think the integrity of the BBC's online archive is important and, although the pages concerned remain published on BBC Online, removal from Google searches makes parts of that archive harder to find.

"...one caveat: when looking through this list it is worth noting that we are not told who has requested the delisting, and we should not leap to conclusions as to who is responsible.

"The request may not have come from the obvious subject of a story."

Following the ruling in May last year, Google received requests from Britons asking for more than 60,000 links to be removed from its search results.
