Nick Grimshaw and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini may have just become colleagues on ‘The X Factor’, but it seems the pair have a ‘Whole Lotta History’ together, as this unearthed picture proves.

It shows the Radio 1 DJ looking far from the skinny-jeaned hipster we know and love today, with his rosy cheeks, dodgy specs and camouflage jacket.
The Girls stopped by Grimmy’s uni in Liverpool shortly after they won ‘Popstars: The Rivals’ in December 2002 for a chat.
Since then, Cheryl has appeared on his Radio 1 Breakfast Show numerous times, before it was announced he would be sitting alongside her on the new series of ‘The X Factor’ last month.

They joined Rita Ora and Simon Cowell at the first day of auditions in Manchester earlier this week, and it seems Grimmy has taken to his new role like a duck to water.
He tweeted: “We saw some amazing talent in Manchester tonight. Can't wait for you to see it on telly.”
