The 22-year-old star, who split from ex-One Direction fiancé Zayn Malik earlier this month, was in the middle of performing her solo part of the group’s ballad ‘The End’, when she burst into tears.

Bandmates Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall quickly crowded round to comfort Perrie, who can be heard sobbing in a video filmed at the gig.

Bandmate Jesy Nelson told the crowd: “It’s been a long day and we’ve had no sleep, so I think this is why this has happened. We’re just very emotional.”

Fans could be heard shouting: “We love you, Perrie!”

Little Mix had been performing on NBC’s 30 Rock Stage for AOL, part of the girls’ American tour.

After seeing the clip of her clearly upset daughter, Perrie’s mum, Debbie, tweeted: “It’s times like this I want to give my baba a hug xx Love you Perrie xx.”
