A search is under way for a missing teenage girl who police believe may have left her home to see a man she met on the internet.
Emily Wicking, 14, from Eston, Redcar and Cleveland, was last seen at around 4pm yesterday.
She is described as having a slim build, 5ft 8in tall, with light brown shoulder length .hair. She was last seen wearing a grey hoodie, blue jeans, and a body warmer with fur around the hood.
Cleveland Police said they were making a direct appeal to Emily to get in contact with them, friends or family to let them know she is safe and well.
A spokesman said: "Highly-trained officers are working from Cleveland Police Headquarters and are out across Cleveland in a bid to trace Emily."
They also appealed to business owners or staff, such as hotels, bars and bed and breakfast accommodation to come forward with any information.
