Decomposing Body Parts Found 'Wrapped In Ikea Bags' At London Beauty Spot

Human remains reportedly wrapped in plastic Ikea bags have been found at a London beauty spot.

The body parts were found at Hollow Ponds, a popular boating spot in Epping Forest, Leytonstone on Wednesday, police confirmed.

A source who asked not to be named told the Waltham Forest Guardian: “They found the body wrapped in blue plastic bags.

“It looked like someone had dug a hole to try and bury it but it wasn’t properly covered.

“The horrendous smell drew him to the spot. They couldn’t tell if it was a man, woman or child or anything.”

Another source told the Mirror a member of the public had found the remains after noticing rats scurrying around bushes close to the area.

A spokesman for Met said: "Police were called at approximately 7.05pm on Wednesday, 9 September to reports of a body found near James Lane, Epping Forest, E11.

"Enquiries are underway into the circumstances."
