BBC's Alex Jones Makes Cardinal TV Error, Calls Nick Robinson A 'Nob'

Things Not To Do When Introducing A Guest Live On Air: Call Them A Nob

Nick Robinson got an unexpected introduction on Friday night's 'The One Show'.

The BBC's ex-political editor, who recently left his post to become a Today programme presenter, was welcomed by Nick Grimshaw and Alex Jones.

The Wales-born broadcaster, who is one of the longest-serving presenters of the daily BBC show, mistakenly referred to journalism stalwart Nick Robinson as "Rick Nobinson".

Her co-presenter, along with her two guests and the live audience, all burst our laughing at the gaffe, with Jones hurriedly apologising.

Robinson took the fluff in jest, though, quipping "it will cotton on; it's my stage name", with Grimshaw piling in on the action repeating Jones' line through fits of laughter.

It's not the first time a TV presenter's made an almighty blunder live on air - and it certainly won't be the last!
