Catherine Coulson, who was best known for her role as the ‘Twin Peaks’ log lady, has died at the age of 71.

Catherine starred in both series of ‘Twin Peaks’, and it’s believed she was also set to star in the upcoming reboot.

The show’s director David Lynch, who also worked with Catherine on his films ‘The Ampute’ and ‘Eraserhead’, along with the 1992 ‘Twin Peaks’ feature length prequel, has paid tribute to his friend, in a statement issued to the Hollywood Reporter.

"Today, I lost one of my dearest friends, Catherine Coulson," he said. "Catherine was solid gold.

“She was always there for her friends — she was filled with love for all people, for her family, for her work. She was a tireless worker.

"She had a great sense of humor — she loved to laugh and make people laugh.

"She was a spiritual person — a longtime TM meditator. She was the Log Lady."

The cast of ‘Twin Peaks’ are currently getting ready to reunite for a new series of the cult show, though the project hasn’t been without its problems, and director David recently rejoined the crew, after leaving following a dispute over money.
