Couple's Poignant IVF Video Shows The Emotional Rollercoaster Of Fertility Treatment

Couple's Video Of Baby Joy Captures The Emotional Rollercoaster Of IVF

A couple has documented their IVF baby joy in a poignant video that captures the emotional reality of struggling to conceive .

Jade Hartley and her boyfriend Brett began trying for their first baby four years ago.

In 2014, Hartley was told she wouldn't be able to conceive naturally so began her first course of IVF.

In the moving video, Hartley documents different stages of her journey, from her taking photos of her jabs, to undergoing acupuncture, mixed in with motivational quotes - all to the very fitting soundtrack of Miley Cyrus' The Climb.

Hartley's first round of IVF failed and she was told she had swollen ovaries and was at a serious risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS).

Not long after, she embarked on her second round of IVF.

To her joy, the second round was successful. The mum-to-be captures her own mum's reaction to the news, as well as her positive pregnancy test and first baby purchases.

Speaking of the reaction to the video, which has had two million views on Facebook, Hartley said, according to Metro: "‘I never expected this.

"You don’t realise how many people will see it when you upload it. I’ve had hundreds of messages of support from all over the world.

"I’ve had people saying they are in Hull now going through treatment and that it’s reassured them they are in the right clinic."

Hartley's baby is due on 9 April 2016.
