‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional Natalie Lowe has revealed that she and her long-term partner, James Knibbs, are engaged.

She admits that James’ proposal at a hotel came as a “complete shock” to her, as she thought they were there to celebrate her birthday.

“When we got to the reception, they told us our room wasn’t ready,” she explains, “I thought, ‘This is bizarre as it’s 2:30 in the afternoon’.”
James then presented her with a ring, after being encouraged to walk the grand hotel’s grounds by a receptionist.
The pair met in a chance encounter on a train two years ago, which came after Natalie was forced to withdraw from ‘Strictly’ due to an injury.
Natalie and Ainsley found themselves in the bottom two couples, during Sunday night’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, but were then unanimously saved by the judging panel, with Olympic boxer Anthony Ogogo hanging up his dancing shoes instead.
It sounds as though the two are getting along famously, with Natalie taking the opportunity to praise her partner during her interview, describing him as “full of beans” and “what ‘Strictly’ is all about”.
The pair will be performing their fourth routine of the series during Saturday night’s live show, airing at 6.30pm on BBC One.
