Google Tests Project Wing Drone Delivery

This Google Delivery Drone Test Video Proves We'll Never Leave The House Again

Google X, the company's top secret division responsible for innovation, is definitely forging ahead with a drone delivery system to rival that of Amazon's.

The evidence? Aaref Hilaly, a partner at Sequoia posted a video showing a drone's test flight.

Tweeting about the drone, Hilaly wrote the goal of the Google's delivery drones would be to cover five miles in five minutes.

This is not the first time Google has tested its drone delivery system. Last summer, winged drones were tested in Australia due to the country's more lenient policy towards unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV).

When the search giant revealed their plans to develop drones, it initially focused on its ability to help deliver aid during disaster emergency scenarios.

However, the UAV in Hilaly's video looks quite different to what was tested last year.

Bearing a close resemblance to Amazon Prime Air drones, Google appeared to be testing a quadcopter to undertake its delivery duties.
