The moment a child slipped out of her aunt's hand and fell two floors down the side of an escalator has been caught in CCTV footage.
The five-year-old girl, who has been identified only by her first name, Linara, was playing with the moving handrail at the bottom of an escalator in Solnechny shopping centre, Novy Urengoy, Russia, while her aunt was standing nearby, talking on her phone.
As Linara leant forward, the handrail pulled her up the escalator by her hands, leaving her legs dangling down the gap.
The CCTV footage shows the aunt rushing up the escalator and trying to pull Linara over the handrail, but after a short struggle, the five-year-old fell down the gap and landed two floors below.
According to Live Leak, Linara's aunt fainted shortly afterwards.
It is reported that Linara suffered only minor cuts and bruises and is expected to make a full recovery.
