Robbie Williams Just Labelled A Journalist A ‘Baby Eater' After Reading The Worst Review Of His Career

Robbie Didn't Take This Scathing Review Of His NZ Gig Well At All

Robbie Williams didn’t take too kindly to a particularly harsh review of one of his shows in New Zealand over the weekend.

The singer entertained the crowds at Wellington’s Basin Reserve on Saturday night, but there was one person in the audience who wasn’t lapping up Robbie’s show quite as much as everyone else.

Step forward music journalist Simon Sweetman, who couldn’t find a single thing to like about the 90 minute live extravaganza.

In his review on stuff.co.nz, Simon said Robbie could ‘barely aim anywhere near a high note, let alone hit one’ and that his hit ‘Rock DJ’ had ‘all the sound and feel of Drunk Uncle at a 21st’.

Ouch.

And he wasn’t too impressed with Robbie’s cover of the Queen classic ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ either.

“Watching his thin sketch of a voice being plastered over the original was a bit like seeing an upturned smile drawn onto the mouth of the Mona Lisa,” he wrote. “With crayons.”

Not a fan then.

And Robbie’s response?

Fans of the star leaped to his defense, accusing the journalist of being ‘bitter'.

One commented: “Simon 'glass half empty' sweetman strikes again. Nothing sounds better to him than the sound of his own voice. Yawn.”

Another added: “Wow, what a clown. As Robbie said to his old teacher, Simon, ‘who is the one sitting in first class?’.

Comments on the article have now been closed, which we’re sure has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that 99.9% of them are in support of Robbie.
