Couple Reunited With Engagement Photo Taken By Stranger Thanks To Internet

When a couple got engaged in Iceland recently they were delighted that a stranger captured the proposal on camera.

But in the post-proposal excitement Michael Kent, from County Durham, misspelled his email address as he gave it to the photographer, Jessica Bowe.

Later that evening, both parties realised the mistake and that they may never be reunited.

But thanks to appeals for help from both the man and the photographer on social media, the happy couple now have the touching photo as a souvenir.

Bowe had just left her local pub in Reykjavík, Iceland, when she spotted Kent getting down on one knee as proposed to his girlfriend, Fiona Newlands.

"The thing is, it still would have been an amazing moment without the picture, but the fact we knew the picture existed made it feel almost devastating that we didn't have it."

He posted an appeal on Facebook asking others if they could help reunite him with Bowe and the photograph.

Kent later copied his Facebook status onto Twitter, where he mentioned the local paper Reykjavík Grapevine to see if they could help.

By coincidence Bowe had also been in touch with the paper that day, asking them if they could post the image from their social media accounts.

Thankfully, Kent and his fiancée hadn't left the country yet and the pair met up with Bowe before their flight back to the UK hours later.

Bowe said: "They're really great people. It couldn't have happened to nicer people."
