When Roger Ryan, an Irish backpacker travelling in Australia, Skyped his parents, they assumed it was because he missed them. That was until he jumped out of an aeroplane.
In the video, posted on YouTube by Hostelworld, Ryan tells his parents Pat and Mary: "I’m going to jump out of an aeroplane now, so I’ll talk to you in a second. I'm just going to get this out of the way, ok?"
His dad exclaims: "I can't hear a word he's saying. Is he in an aeroplane or what?"
And then, when the realisation dawns that they're watching their son skydive thousands of feet: "Fuck off! I thought he was in a bus! Argh you eejit."
