A man has been arrested after a woman was found dead in a house.
Essex Police were called to Old Road in Clacton just after 10.50am on Friday after concerns were raised for the welfare of a resident.
They found the woman, believed to be aged in her late 50s, dead inside.
Police said a 25-year-old man from Clacton was arrested in the town on suspicion of murder and has been taken to Clacton police station for questioning.
A police spokesman said: "A post-mortem to establish the cause of death has not yet taken place but police believe she was killed.
