BBC Two have announced plans for a totally faaabulous sounding ‘The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel’-inspired TV series, which will see a group of older celebrities staying in a mansion in India.
The Beeb have already announced who’ll be taking part, and weighing up whether they would be capable of spending their retirements in the same way as the movie’s characters, with names including Miriam Margolyes and Wayne Sleep.

‘Doctor Who’ actor Sylvester McCoy, ‘Catchphrase’ legend Roy Walker, Rosemary Shrager, Bobby George, Jan Leeming and singer Patti Boulaye will also be taking part.
The group will set up home in a private mansion in Jaipur, and viewers will see them participating in activities such as practicing yoga for the first time, and meeting Jaipur’s royal family.

BBC Two controller Kim Shillinglaw has shared her excitement ahead of the show, explaining that it kicks off a season of “entertaining new programmes with real purpose”.
"In 2016, BBC Two will be tackling a number of contemporary issues, from the black economy to low pay,” she states. "I'm delighted to be kicking off with this warm and very funny experiment examining how we spend our older years.
“With a terrific line-up of characters,’The Real Marigold Hotel’ is both entertaining and incredibly moving and raises some big questions about the way we live the later part of our lives."
A start date is yet to be confirmed, but it’s believed that the series will air in late January.
