Boy, 15, Appears In Court Over Stab Murder Of Youth Aspiring To Be Rap Artist

A 15-year-old boy has appeared in court charged with the murder of an aspiring young musician.

The youth is accused of murdering Myron Isaac Yarde, a 17-year-old with ambitions to become a rap artist, who was stabbed several times during an altercation in New Cross, south London, on Sunday April 3.

Appearing at Bromley Youth Court, the defendant, who cannot be named for legal reasons, rose only to give his name, age and address.

Yarde was found by the emergency services with five stab wounds, including injuries to his thigh and upper leg.

He was taken to King’s College Hospital, Lambeth, shortly after 7.40pm, but died of his injuries within two hours.

The defendant will remain in custody until his next appearance at the Central Criminal Court on Tuesday April 12.
