Duncan James only began filming with the ‘Hollyoaks’ cast earlier this week, but the popstar-turned-soapstar has now been forced to take a break due to injury.
The former Blue singer, who is also currently performing with the touring production of ‘Priscilla’, underwent surgery for a slipped disc and damaged nerve on Thursday (9 June), after suffering a back injury.
Duncan’s manager, Paul Baylay, confirmed the star's injury on Twitter and kept fans informed by sharing a picture of Duncan:
The captions read: “Back on the road to recovery & doing well. @MrDuncanJames sends his love & thanks to everyone for the support.”
A source previously told the Mirror: “Duncan slipped a disc and damaged a nerve. It was pretty bad. He had a small section of the disc removed to ease pressure on the spine.
Duncan’s soap debut was announced earlier this year, and when The Huffington Post UK caught up with him at the British Soap Awards, he teased what viewers can expect.
“I’m going to be doing lots of scenes with the kids,” he said. “I’m really excited about joining ‘Hollyoaks’.
“It’s a great opportunity to me and it’s another string to my bow.”
