‘Strictly Come Dancing’ Professional Dancer Aliona Vilani Set To Return To Show After Quitting After Last Series

'She realised she was a bit hasty in her decision to quit.”

Strictly Come Dancing’ professional dancer Aliona Vilani has had a change of heart about her decision to quit the BBC dance show, it seems.

The 32-year-old announced she was leaving the show at the end of last year, after leading her dance partner Jay McGuiness to victory.

At the time, Aliona said she wanted to take time out from her career to start a family with her husband Vincent Kavanagh.

But Aliona is set to make a return to the show, after admitting she “cried her eyes out” following her decision to leave.

The Russian-Kazakh star is now reportedly in talks with show bosses to return to the show, albeit in a behind-the-scenes role as a choreographer.

Aliona will also be opening the next series with current champ Jay McGuiness after they danced their way to victory, last year.

After quitting last year, Aliona said she immediately regretted her decision.

“I’m missing it already,” she admitted. “When I decided to leave after the final I cried my eyes out. It was very upsetting for me. It was a really hard decision.”

This year’s series, which will return to our screens in the autumn, will see three new dancers joining the professional line-up.

World Champion Katya Jones, Ukrainian Champion Oksana Platero and top Spanish dance professional Gorka Marquez will help guide the celebrity contestants on the dance show.

Meanwhile, Gregg Wallace, who Aliona was partnered with on the 2014 series, spoke out against her earlier this week, blaming her for his early exit from the dance show.
