Calvin Harris Blasts Taylor Swift, Following 'This Is What You Came For' Revelation

'I know you need someone to try and bury... but I'm not that guy. Sorry.'

Calvin Harris has laid into ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift, following the revelation that she co-wrote his Rihanna collaboration, ‘This Is What You Came For’.

On Wednesday (13 July), Taylor confirmed speculation that she was the mystery co-writer of the track, which was recorded before their split earlier this year.

Calvin has since spoken out on Twitter, and while he initially stated that Taylor’s backing vocals on ‘This Is What You Came For’ were an example of her “smashing it as usual”, his comments quickly took a more barbed turn.

After clarifying that he was responsible for “producing the song”, “arranging it” and “cutting the vocals”, he then addressed his ex directly in a string of posts.

Alluding to her ongoing “feud” with fellow singer Katy Perry, who is said to be the inspiration for her track ‘Bad Blood’, he wrote: “[It’s] hurtful to me at this point that her and her team would go so far out of their way to try and make ME look bad at this stage though.

“I know you’re off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy etc but I’m not that guy, sorry. I won’t allow it.”

He also referenced her rumoured new relationship with Tom Hiddleston, who Taylor is thought to have begun dating just weeks after splitting from Calvin, adding: “I figure if you’re happy in your new relationship you should focus on that instead of trying to tear your ex bf down for something to do.”

Perhaps there was more to it than he was letting on, though.

Needless to say, we’ll now be watching Taylor’s social media pages like a hawk for any class of response...
