'Hollyoaks' Stars 'Furious After Ban On Social Media Advertising' By Channel 4 Bosses

"This decision has gone down like a lead balloon amongst the cast."

‘Hollyoaks’ cast members aren’t happy with a new change of policy by soap bosses, depriving them of some perks.

The stars of the show have previously been able to top up their earnings by publishing posts on social media advertising products, and they were also able to receive free products in return for tweeting out their thanks.

However, that’s all come to a stop now after a ban by Channel 4 bosses, and the stars are reportedly furious.

The Sun reports that a memo has been sent to all cast members banning any more tweets in return for cash, and that all social media is being monitored.

The newspaper adds that stars including Nikki Sanderson, Ashley Taylor Dawson and Zoe Lucker all made their feelings clear in a meeting this week. “This decision has gone down like a lead balloon amongst the cast,” it cites a source explaining.

A ‘Hollyoaks’ spokeswoman confirmed the memo and the meeting but said the reaction was positive.

Recent stars to join the popular soap include Chelsee Healey and Blue singer Duncan James.
