'First Dates': Couple Who Got Engaged After Eight Months Have Now Split

Our hearts were warmed when a couple who met on ‘First Dates’ got engaged during a Christmas special of the show last year, but it seems their romance is already over.

Scott White and Victoria Wills have split, seven months after he got down on bended knee and proposed with a Haribo ring on the Channel 4 dating series.

The pair only met eight months previously, after being set up on a blind date, and returned to the ‘First Dates’ restaurant in December, where they got engaged.

But a source has now told The Sun that things between them didn’t work out, with Victoria deleting all traces of Scott from her social media pages, while he is on dating app Happn looking for a new partner.

“They both thought getting engaged would end up with them going down the aisle and being very happy together but it hasn’t worked out,” the insider said.

“There was a huge song and dance around them when Scott popped the question and people thought it was great they had found love through such unusual circumstances, but it just hasn’t worked out.

“Scott is back looking for love and the fact she’s deleted all traces of him suggests it’s far from amicable,” they added.

The most recent series of ‘First Dates’ has seen celebrities attempting to find love, with the likes of Gogglebox’s Scarlett Moffatt and Ordinary Boys singer Preston among those going on dates.

Viewers were also moved to tears during Esther Rantzen’s appearance on the show, when she described her grief for her late husband.

‘Celebrity First Dates’ continues on Friday (29 July) at 9pm on Channel 4.
