Tamara Ecclestone Rutland Defends Breastfeeding Her Two-Year-Old Daughter

'It’s so comforting for her and she loves it.'

Tamara Ecclestone Rutland has defended the fact she still breastfeeds her two-and-a-half-year-old daughter.

The 32-year-old, who is mum to Sophia with her husband Jay Rutland, said she doesn’t understand why women get criticised for breastfeeding.

“I find it bizarre what people’s priorities are,” she told Fabulous Magazine. “My boobs are like a tap!

“Sophia is two and a half and yes, a lot of people wouldn’t breastfeed now, but it’s so comforting for her and she loves it.”

Ecclestone said she doesn’t intend to stop breastfeeding Sophia any time soon.

“We’ll cross that bridge if it comes to it, but for now she’s my baby,” she added.

“Although I’m going to have the saggiest boobs around by the time she’s finished.”

The NHS advises: “There’s no reason why you shouldn’t carry on breastfeeding your child into their second year and beyond.

“You and your toddler can carry on enjoying the benefits of breastfeeding for as long as you want. Your toddler may also find breastfeeding comforting when they are ill or upset.”

Ecclestone has previously spoken out about the unexpected controversy around breastfeeding when she shared a photo of herself feeding her daughter in the water while on holiday.

At the time, when the photo stirred a debate online, Ecclestone told Lorraine: “It was such a natural moment, I didn’t realise the photo was being taken.

“I didn’t realise that people would have so many opinions on it, I just thought it was a beautiful photograph of the person that I love so much and on holiday and it was a special moment and that was really the only reason to share that picture.”

She added: “If someone is bottle feeding their baby and enjoying it and in the moment and post a picture of their baby while they’re being fed a bottle nobody would have anything to say about that.”
