'Strictly Come Dancing': Ore Oduba Stuns With Salsa Routine As Louise Redknapp Tops Leaderboard With Argentine Tango

Even Ed Balls had a good night.

After a rather scary misstep during Halloween Week, Ore Oduba and Joanne Clifton managed to get things back on track during this week’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.

As ‘Strictly’ fans will recall, the judges were feeling rather stingy when doling out the points last week, with Greg Rutherford getting a 4 from Craig Revel Horwood, and Ore being lumped with a 6.

And yes, we know a 6 still isn’t exactly to be sniffed at when you’re nearer the lower half of the leaderboard, but considering the BBC Sports presenters has been getting 10s at a very early stage of the competition, it was quite a setback.

Luckily, he and Joanne pulled out of the bag with their energetic Salsa routine to ‘Turn The Beat Around’ in Saturday’s (5 November) live show, scooping 34 of a possible 40 points.

They weren’t the highest-scorers of the night, though, with Louise Redknapp having praise heaped on her by the judges with the first Argentine Tango of the series.

Not only did it get the former Eternal singer her first 10, she managed to get three of them - with only Craig Revel Horwood giving her a still-very-respectable 9.

Meanwhile, it was even a good week for Ed Balls, who got his highest score so far this year for his Quickstep to The Beatles’ ‘Help!’.

Admittedly, he still only got 27 points, but he’s definitely showing signs of improvement.

Find out which of the celebrities will be packing their bags this week in the ‘Strictly’ results show, airing on Sunday (6 November) at 7.15pm on BBC One.
