Big Brother Viewers To Choose Last Person To Enter House

Big Brother has announced a new twist - with viewers getting to choose the last person to enter the reality TV house on launch night.

Show bosses have released a snap of a floral Diary Room chair, designed to conjure up images of a "perfect British village".

The housemate chosen by the public will have access to the outside world and have "great power" within the Channel 5 compound.

Six of the housemates have already been announced.

A spokeswoman for the show said: "There will be one final housemate position up for grabs which will be decided by the public in tonight's live launch, from a selection of candidates.

"The lucky housemate voted in by the public will become the People's Housemate and will hold great power within the house, even having access to the outside world."

The live launch, hosted by Emma Willis, takes place from 8.30pm on Channel 5.

Big Brother will go head-to-head with Love Island as both series return to television screens on Monday.

The romantic shenanigans over on ITV2's Love Island get under way at 9pm.
